We all know I am obsessed with skin-care products, especially when it comes to finding products that work pre and post training, for me it is just as important as making sure I am getting a good warm up and stretching routine in-place.  It’s all about finding things that actually work and have the evidence behind them to prove they do, from a glycolic wash to salicylic acid cleanser.

When we train we undoubtedly sweat out toxins and this sweat can cause friction between our skin and the clothes we are wearing, for some this has a huge impact on their skin and causes rashes/breakouts so on and forth, so here are my favourite products to help you stay at your best when training:

Pre work-out

Zo Skin Oil Control Cleanser, £45.00

This has to be one of my favourite cleaners, it gently removes any dirt and targets any excess oiliness without leaving your skin feeling dry and tight, you know that weird feeling where you feel like your skin is stretching. Well you won’t be having any of that with this product, it feels your skin feeling refreshed, smooth and hydrated.

Sports Fx Cosmetics – Waterproof mascara, £7.99

Make-up isn’t something I tend to wear anyway and not something I would advise for training, but a little mascara can brighten your eyes and make you feel just that little bit more confident and this is my go to one, both when training and not. It really does stay in place and designed for the active woman.

Heliocare SPF 50 Gel, £19.00

A simple SPF should be worn everyday, yes everyday!! It is one of the easiest things to do to help prevent ageing and reduce skin damage from the sun. So after you have cleansed away any dirt which may been lying on your skin before training, rehydrate with this gel SPF.

Post Training

Pretty Athletic Cool Down Purifying Gel Cleaner, Invigorating Scrub and Gel Body Moisturizer £15.50-28.00

I love all things by Pretty Athletic and this brand is designed for the active woman in mind. Not only this, but their products smell AMAZING! So cleanse your face with the purifying gel, take a shower with the invigorating wash, which has it’s own built in scrub to gently exfoliate any dirt and prevent blackheads and breakouts and rehydrate your body with the gel moisturizer, which helps to cool down your skin and prevent muscle soreness.

Dr Teals Epsom Salts, £7.99

If you truly want to relax, stop any muscle soreness or just soak out any aches and pains you might have these are the best Epsom salts I have come across. The gentle eucalyptus touch helps to sooth your mind and body, so bath lovers take note!

Zo Skin Acne Pads, £55.00

You’ve cleansed you face, but these acne pads are the perfect addition to your skincare routine if you are prone to breakouts or blocked pores. Believe me you will quickly become hooked to them!
