BENEFITS OF IMPLEMENTING BARRE INTO YOUR TRAINING PROGRAMME

Barre training may be unknown to some. Especially the male population however it has some fantastic benefits making it a form of exercise that I encourage everybody to have within their training routine. For instance some of the physical benefits you will experience from participating in regular barre workouts are talked about below.

Muscle strength

One benefit of barre is that it’ll help strengthen your muscles, particularly your: core, arms, legs, posterior chain & pelvic floor.

Strengthening these muscle groups will help with maintaining muscle mass as you age, keep your joints flexible allowing good mobility and better balance.

A strong developed core allows  the correct functioning of your whole body. 

Muscle endurance

Taking part in regular barre classes will increase your muscular endurance. Endurance impacts your heart rate and  breathing patterns.

Your endurance increases your stamina, so you’ll be able to maintain a higher level of activity in your everyday life, such as walking up the stairs. Plus, you’ll be able to exercise at a higher intensity and for longer in other areas of your training programme.

Flexibility

Furthermore barre workouts include a large amount of stretching. This helps improve your flexibility and the range of motion in your joints. Maintaining flexibility makes it much easier to move throughout your day. With many people having desk jobs improving and keeping on top of flexibility and reducing stiffness is crucial to helping injury prevention.

Posture

You may find yourself have a better posture after doing barre for prolonged period. This could be an added bonus from these workouts. Good posture also positively influences what’s going on inside your body. It can decrease pressure on your spine.

In conclusion the brief points above are why I am huge promoter of Barre workouts and will continue to have it as a large part of my offering when personal training and teaching classes.
